1.                 Don’t work with cash: working with money in your pocket may drive you to buy things you are not supposed to buy in that moment. This has happen to me so many times before realizing my fault. Some people can control their self but I can’t advice you to work with money in your pocket when there is no need for it. Money is not easy to make, so value it.
Let assume you carry a bird in your hand and you expose it to the world, it will always struggle to fly. That is exactly what to compare to the money in your pocket. Had it been that the bird is not exposed to the air, it may not struggle to fly.
There is bank there for you to keep your money and withdraw with ATM card so why walking with money. Cage that money in the bank so that it will not fly like the other bird I mention earlier.

2.                 Don’t go to market without a list of what to buy: in couple what I discuss above. Don’t go to store or market place to buy Items without a list of what you have planned to buy. If you have been doing that before, stop it. There are many things you will love to buy in the market but once you plan with a list guiding you, you will not buy what you don’t plan to buy.

Let us assume that you have five thousand naira with you; the list of items you want to buy is four thousand five hundred naira, your transport is two hundred naira and three hundred naira is left for dinar. As you are buying things in the market then you saw a T-shirt you like to buy for a long time ago which cost one thousand naira,  as you are pricing it then you remember the money you have with you is limited to the items in the list; what will you do? You will plan to buy it another time. Had it be you are not with a list; you may later spend your transport.

3.                 Plan ahead of every week: Every day comes with demand; we all eat every day, swear cloth every day and we all do things that will demand us to spend every week. Planning is the one of the best way to manage money in school even everywhere planning must be done. this the third among the  7 ways to manage your money in school

If you are tired of wasting money then have an effective plain ahead of every week in regards to financial expenditures.
We all live in imperfect world; no one is perfect including you and I. with this, planning can make you different.
Do this three things after reading this post; get a book, write all you need in a week and assign the price of all those things to then in that book. So far, you know what you need in the whole week and what the cost the jot out those that you cannot live without e.g food then calculate the price and subtract it from the money you always get in a week. If there is little money left then add other necessity to the list but if the money is not enough, then try and remove that item you can don’t need urgently.
After all the calculation above, make you final draft and keep it on your table. Make that list your guide   and don’t ever spend beyond what is in that list.

Now, let us do the practical aspect; if you are getting N5000 in a week. Then you need food N3000, gas N500, water N500, soup N500, books N500 and chair N1000 which make the price equals to six thousand naira.

 Then you plan to buy the basic necessity with include food, gas, water, books and soup which are equals the exact money you are getting in a month. Now, you need to remove the chair of one thousand naira from your list because you can live without a chair. Draft the final list which is food, gas, water and books and let it be on your table always.

4.                 Buy Items in bulk: Once you know what you will need to buy in a week, then try and buy them in bulk. Don’t buy fifty naira salt today and buy fifty naira soap tomorrow. Also buy from the same shop so that there will be discount. Once you buy everything you need in bulk, there will not be room for spending unnecessarily because money will always want you to spent her so be wiser than it.

5.                 Pay urgent first: yes, buy the urgently needed first. If you have a little money with you and you need to buy many items, then select those that you need urgently in that moment living the rest for the future. Maybe you have a title money to buy items like books, food and cloth then buy food and books first so far you have many cloth in your bag.

6.                 Use fast cooker: Cooking is the most things many students do. So try and get a fast cooker that can save your money. I will like to recommend gas cooker and electric cooker.

7.                 Have a side hustle: this is the reality, have a side hustle. You need to learn how to make money in school. There are many work you can do right there in your college e.g writing e-books, blogging, graphics designing and lot more
